The Good Samaritan Hospital has been providing treatment to drug and alcohol addicts since 1974. This drug and alcohol rehabilitation center is one of three medical centers located in downtown Petersburg Indiana. The other centers are the Southeast Ohio Drug Rehabilitation Center and the Evansville Healthcare Complex. The Good Samaritan also offers outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation at its Center for Addictions and Mental Health. This Center was created to provide customized addiction treatment for all types of addictions.

The Good Samaritan Hospital – Samaritan Drug Rehab offers full-service, interdisciplinary drug addiction treatment, including detoxification, residential treatment, day care, psychological treatment and clinical treatment. The outpatient treatment is offered by a range of physicians and psychiatrist who are experienced in treating drug addicts and alcoholics. The doctors of the Good Samaritan Hospital – Samaritan Drug Rehab facility are members of the International Association of Doctors of Addiction Medicine. All the physicians and other staff of the Good Samaritan Hospital – Samaritan Drug Rehab have passed the requirements for board certification in substance abuse treatment.
