Chevelle bassist Dean Bernardini has announced his plans to "take a break from the road" after completing this year's shows with the band.

Chevelle bassist Dean Bernardini has announced his plans to “take a break from the road” after completing this year’s shows with the band. Bernardini has been with the band since 2005, after former bassist Joe Loeffler left the band, with 2007’s Vena Sera marking his first studio recording with the band. He added that he will “continue to work” in music in some form or another while spending time on his art and furniture business. “To all my dedicated friends/fans: It is with a heavy heart that I have decided I will be taking a break from the road to spend some much needed time at home with my family,” Bernardini announced on the band’s Facebook page. “I consider myself lucky to have been a part of Chevelle & have shared the stage with such incredible musicians. These past 15 years & 6 albums have been amazing to be a part of,” he added. “I will be finishing out this years remaining shows on stage with my brothers and band mates.” The band’s fall tour kicks off on Wednesday, September 25 with a show in Salt Lake City at USANA Amphitheatre and will conclude on December 14 at the Horseshoe Tunica in Robinsonville, Mississippi.
