Songs from Soundgarden and the Rolling Stones have been reimagined as saloon-inspired piano ballads on the Westworld: Season 1 EP, the sonic accompaniment to HBO’s hit new series Westworld. Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell recently told Billboard that the cover “perfectly fits the mood of the scene, and reveals a duality that has always existed in the song.” In addition to the Soundgarden and Rolling Stones covers, the EP also includes piano versions of Radiohead’s “No Surprises” and The Cure’s “A Forest.” The main title theme for Westworld is also included on the EP. Ramin Djawadi, who penned the Game of Thrones opening theme music, arranged the covers.
