U2 is eager to release new music, despite the fact that the band just released their thirteenth studio album Songs Of Innocence in September.
In a new Rolling Stone interview, frontman Bono says the group has already plotted a follow-up to Songs of Innocence, called Songs of Experience, and he hopes it will arrive sometime in the next 18 months.
He also added that fans should be on the lookout for Songs for Ascent, a record the band announced way back in 2009.
“Songs of Ascent will come,” Bono said, “and there are some beautiful songs.”
“We’re hoping Songs of Experience will be less about intimacy,” bass player Adam Clayton added. “And more about a celebration of sorts.”
Songs of Experience has no official release date yet.
