Third Eye Blind Records & Releases New EP 'So Alone, So Alive' from Quarantine, All Proceeds Benefit Crew Nation
From separate locations, the members of Third Eye Blind have tracked new live versions of “Losing a Whole Year,” alongside “Ways,” “The Kids Are Coming (to Take You Down) and the title track from their latest album, Screamer, where they’re joined by Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells. The EP is called So Alone, So Alive, a lyric from “Motorcycle Drive By,” and is aviailable on the band’s YouTube.
“We recorded lo-fi on the fly,” adds Stephan Jenkins. “Everybody just picked up their practice amps, counted to four, and pressed record.” Full Q&A with Stephan is at Spin Magazine.
Donations from the EP will directly benefit Crew Nation, LiveNation’s global relief fund for live music crews.
To help promote social distancing, Stephan and guitarist Kryz Reid have been performing ‘Quarantine Kitchen Sessions’ every Tuesday at various times on Third Eye Blind’s Instagram Live. Jenkins has been sheltering-in-place at his home in San Francisco.
“We all need to be part of the solution and not the spread,” says Stephan. “In the meantime, stay chill, wash your hands, drink plenty of water and look out for your grandparents! We will check in on the socials and be together soon. Wishing you love and good health.”
