Electro-pop trio Shaed earned their first No. 1 on a Billboard chart as their “Trampoline” rose to the top spot from No. 2 on the Alternative Songs airplay chart.
This is first No. 1 song from a band with female-only vocals in 16 years, according to Billboard. Previously, The Head and the Heart’s “All We Ever Knew,” which includes vocals, though not lead, from violinist/guitarist Charity Rose Thielen, led the list in December 2016.
Shaed is also the first act to top the chart with a first entry since Marshmello, whose “Happier” hit No. 1 in November 2018.
“Trampoline” reached the top position in its 26th week, marking the longest rise to No. 1 on Alternative Songs in over a year. Alice Merton’s “No Roots” also took 26 weeks to reach the No. 1 position in February 2018.
