Sevendust frontman Lajon Witherspoon says that after working with producer Butch Walker on 2003’s ‘Seasons,’ the Atlanta-based rockers were ready to oversee their latest album, ‘Next,’ on their own. “We have known Butch for a long time. He actually recorded the first Sevendust demos in his house!” said Witherspoon. “He has great vocal ability so he helped me a lot in terms of really using my voice and vocals. This time around we just felt confidant in doing the record ourselves. At this stage of the game we know what sounds good and we know how to work with each other in the studio. It was just time to do it ourselves.” Butch Walker not only produced Sevendust’s previous album, but also co-wrote the lead off single from that record, the song ‘Enemy’.
