Puddle Of Mudd lead singer Wes Scantlin says that the band is about three quarters of the way complete with their new album, which will be called Jacket On the Rack. The album, produced by Brian Howes is expected to be out later this year. In an interview with Quad City Times, Scantlin said that unlike the last album, Famous, this album will not be co-written by anyone other than the members of the band. “The last record was a weird record,” said Scantlin. “There was a lot of co-writes and stuff, people were brought in that probably shouldn’t have been brought in for co-writes, it was kind of a weird situation for me.” The album, which had its title derived from a comment made by band guitarist Paul Phillips one night at a bar, will have a much edgier sound according to Scantlin. “This album is definitely a lot edgier this time. I try to keep everything as rocking as possible, I’m not looking to get any Top 40 AC play.”
