Dave Grohl has opened up about the forthcoming Foo Fighters album, saying that it may be the band’s longest yet, despite the fact, he tells Billboard, that it’s only eight tracks long. “We’re doing things that we’ve never done before. And I want to say that it’s only eight songs but I think it might be our longest record because, as I was writing these songs, I had to take a cinematic approach.” He added: “Honestly, there are sections of songs that will really take you by surprise. And then there are choruses that you’ll just recognize as Foo Fighters within the first three seconds.” Grohl and the band are documenting the album’s recording process for a new HBO mini series titled Sonic Highways.
