Fresh off a co-headlining run alongside Ingrid Michaelson, singer/songwriter Mat Kearney will embark on a solo acoustic road trip this summer behind last year’s “City of Black & White.” The musician will work his way from the East Coast to the West, beginning July 10 in Saint Albans, WV. The 34-city outing, which includes one Canadian show Aug. 26 in Vancouver, wraps up with an Aug. 28 performance in Seattle. The full schedule is shown below.Kearney continues drumming up support for his sophomore release, “City of Black & White,” which surfaced last May. The performer spent nearly five years on the road supporting his major-label debut, 2006’s “Nothing Left to Lose.” “‘City of Black & White’ was born on a ferry as I crossed the Bosphorus River which splits Istanbul [Turkey] in two as well as acting as an invisible dividing line between two continents,” Kearney explained at his website. “I was traveling with a friend celebrating what felt like victory after a five-year-long knife fight to establish myself as a new artist.” Several tracks from the set are currently streaming at the Kearney’s MySpace page.
