Singer/songwriter Mat Kearney has announced that he and Ingrid Michaelson will team up for a spring road trip in support of their respective 2009 albums: “City of Black & White” and “Everybody.” The two musicians will begin the outing with a March 9 show in Lancaster, PA. The co-headlining trek will take the two to clubs and theaters in 21 cities throughout the eastern portion of the nation. The itinerary, shown at right, currently concludes with an April 3 performance in Des Moines, IA.Kearney, who spent five years on the road supporting his major-label debut, “Nothing Left to Lose,” is drumming up support for his sophomore release, last year’s “City of Black & White.” Several tracks from the set are currently streaming at the Kearney’s MySpace page. Michaelson released “Everybody,” her fourth studio effort, last August on her own label, Cabin 24 Records. The album peaked at No. 18 on The Billboard 200 and includes the single “Maybe,” which spent 13 weeks on the magazine’s Top Rock Songs chart. Michaelson’s previous release, 2007’s “Boy and Girls,” catapulted her into radio airplay and larger venues after songs from the album landed placements on shows including “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scrubs,” and retailer Old Navy used the album’s breakaway hit, “The Way I Am,” in a massive holiday campaign.
