Alt-pop band lovelytheband has released the Amazon Original “broken (strings version),” exclusively on Amazon Music.
“It was a lot of fun re-imagining ‘broken’ using strings and orchestral instruments. It was a pretty funny and cool moment when we first heard the strings playing the chords, we were like ‘oh, we wrote a really good song!’ Amazon Originals always has interesting and unique content. We are proud that we get to be a part of it,” says lead singer Mitchy Collins.
The Amazon Original track, “broken (strings version),”is an orchestral version of the band’s hit single “broken.” “broken,” which is the lead single off of the band’s recently released debut album finding it hard to smile, broke the record for the longest running #1 track on Alternative Radio thus far this year at 6 weeks, is number 26 at Top 40 radio, has over 54 million streams worldwide and was described simply as “So. Damn. Good.” by Buzzfeed and “infectious” by Billboard. Their newest single “these are my friends,” has over 5.1 million streams worldwide and also appears on the album. Previously released tracks “alone time” and “pity party” are on the album as well.
The band, who was named one of Billboard’s “10 Rock & Alternative Artists to Watch in 2018,” recently wrapped up their tours with Vance Joy and AWOLNATION and performed at Lollapalooza and Billboard’s Hot 100 Festival. They are embarking on a 29-date headlining ‘broken like me’ fall tour that started on August 15 and ends October 21. The tour will hit major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Nashville, and Washington D.C.
