Foo Fighters fans in Richmond, Virginia raised $60,000 crowdfunding a concert from Dave Grohl and company. After learning of the effort, the Foos agreed to go ahead with the show. “Nothing like this has ever been done before. We’ve sold [tickets] for a concert that doesn’t exist yet,” one of the fans behind the effort told Billboard in April. The organizers used the crowdfunding site Crowdtilt asking fans to pitch in $50 for a ticket with the money being refunded if the band didn’t agree to the show. “See ya soon . . . let’s have a good time,” the Foos wrote on Twitter announcing the decision to play the gig. No official date or venue has been announced for the gig, but it will be the first that the band has played in the city since 1998. Copyright(c) 2014 RTTNews.com. All Rights Reserved
