Deal Casino have released their latest EP, Woof. The 5-song EP demonstrates the band’s hooky pop rock roots, their obsession with The Pixies and Radiohead that changed their approach to music, and a look forward at the current trajectory of where the band is headed. Overall, Woof. is an introspective reflection upon the experience the band has gained over the past two years – a time that has changed each member’s life and made them a name outside of New Jersey.
Deal Casino formed in elementary school, with Joe P (vox), Jon Rodney (bass), and Joe C (keys/guitar) being nearly lifelong musical collaborators. They moved into a house together in Asbury Park where they were able to make music all the time, eventually trading the house for spending most of their time in a van together on the road. 2019 saw tours with The Wrecks, Badflower, The Happy Fits, The Parlor Mob, The Technicolors, and the band’s first trip to Europe (also with Badflower). Deal Casino has spent some time playing festivals as well, with appearances at Gov Ball, Firefly, Sea.Hear.Now and The Front Bottoms’ Champagne Jam all in the last few years.
January saw the release of their first new material of 2020, with singer Joe P channeling his inner crooner on a cover of ‘My Way”, originally made popular by fellow New Jersey icon Frank Sinatra. The single “Chicken Head” kicked off the new music, released while the band was on the road for the first time this year with Ohio’s The Orphan The Poet, supporting Woof.
In light of the recent pandemic that forced the touring industry to a screeching halt, the band recently announced a ‘Quarantour,’ teaming up with local bands to give fans a unique concert experience via Instagram Live. Merch will be available for purchase as well as the option to donate to Feeding America.
