In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, the Blur frontman revealed that he has plans to release a new Gorillaz album in 2016. It will be the internet/animated band’s first release since their 2011 release The Fall, which was recorded on an iPad.

Among the other things keeping Albarn busy at the moment – an adaptation of a children’s book for a West End musical. The only thing not on the docket for Albarn is Blur. He hasn’t ruled out a tour or anything exciting, but the outlook for anything imminent.
“I would imagine there’s some kind of future, but at the moment there’s no time for the future – only the present,” Albarn told the Sydney Morning Herald, “Who knows? I’m reluctant to say anything, because if I do, it just gets taken out of context and then I’m accused of being a wind-up.”
