U2’s Bono joined Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band on stage in Dublin’s Croke Park to sing the Patti Smith song “Because the Night” on Sunday night.
Both performers shared the mic while singing the track with Nils Lofgren’s guitar solo being one of the major highlights at the end of the performance.
The Boss originally wrote the track for his 1978 album Darkness on the Edge of Town, but ended up giving the song to Smith for her album Easter. Once Smith got a hold of the song she rewrote the verses and the song went to number thirteen, which was her biggest hit to date.
Springsteen kicked off his European tour two weeks ago in Barcelona and will stay overseas until until July 31 in Zurich, Switzerland.
