The Indie Song of the Day comes from The Slingers, an Australian rock act from Melbourne. The Slingers just dropped singles on Spotify, “Can You Hear Me” and the song we’re featuring today called “Matter of Fact.” The Slingers have a simplistic and addictive sound. “Matter of Fact” is reminiscent of an album track from The Cure in their glory days. The sound is wide open rhythmically which allows the guitars to really show off on the track. That space also allows frontman Christian Boffa to show off his unique style too. “Can You Hear Me” isn’t a lot like “Matter of Fact” – it has a roots-rock Neil Young type of vibe to it.
