We did a campaign in 2019 with ReverbNation to discover some great artists on the platform and choose 10 to feature as an Indie Song of the Day in July. Today we’ve got the first act – Rapid City, SD band New Age Affair. As these dudes have probably heard countless of times, South Dakota isn’t a music hotbed – but recent notables to come out of the state include an all-time AA favorite in The Spill Canvas. New Age Affair’s energy reminds us of them on first listen even if their sound isn’t that comparable. The other band we think of with New Age Affair is another all-time AA favorite in The Product. Like The Product, New Age Affair was formed by two brothers – Derek and Gage Flick. They started in 2017 and they released their first EP that year called “Reset.” They’d go through lineup changes but their most recent release came in 2018 when they went to New York to record their double single “The Otherside” with Mark McClusky. Next up for New Age Affair: they’re hard at work on their first full-length album set for 2019.
