Hayley Williams has praised a young, female singer, who shared her cover of Paramore’s 2017 song, “Hard Times” through Twitter.
After attending a Black Lives Movement protest held by the teen-run, all-female organization “Teens 4 Equality” in Nashville, Tennessee, the 31-year-old singer shared her feelings, writing, “The conversation around systemic oppression was never going to be a comfortable one. nor is the convo around police brutality. nor is the one around white privilege. but the conversation is going to happen. it has to. ITS OVERDUE.”
In response to the aforementioned thread of tweets, the Twitter user by the name of “blackstem” politely requested Williams to check out her powerful cover of the song, to which the singer responded, “You just singlehandedly turned ‘Hard Times’ into church” and even retweeted it.
The video has now been viewed more than 80,000 times on Twitter alone and has received an uproar of positive comments.
