The headlining acts for the 20th anniversary of Lollapalooza were announced yesterday and include Coldplay, Foo Fighters, and Muse, as well as Eminem.
This summer’s 20th anniversary Lollapalooza festival will be headlined by Coldplay, Foo Fighters, and Muse, as well as Eminem. The announcement was made today after months of rumors and speculations. Further acts scheduled to perform at this year’s festival include Arctic Monkeys, Bright Eyes, My Morning Jacket, Cee Lo Green, Deadmau5, Deftones, A Perfect Circle, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley & Nas, The Cars and Ween. “As excited as I am to watch this year’s legends perform at Lolla, I am also feeling the enthusiasm for the younger groups who are just now breaking. I take great delight in knowing that for the past 20 years we’ve given so many new artists a prestigious stage and a massive audience to play in front of,” said Perry Farrell, member of Jane’s Addiction and founder of Lollapalooza in a statement. The 2011 Lollapalooza festival takes place from August 5 to 7 at Grant Park in Chicago. Last year’s event featured performances by Lady Gaga, The Strokes, Arcade Fire and a reunited Soundgarden.
