Last week Apple released their download statistics for the most downloaded songs of 2010. Taking the top spot on the list was Train’s hit single, “Hey, Soul Sister” that was downloaded more than 4 million times in the US on iTunes according to Apple. “It was absolutely the song you could not get away from in 2010,” iTunes editor Alex Luke told Alternative Addiction. “It’s one of those songs that crossed all different radio formats, and it was just everywhere.” The track was the first single off of Train’s 2009 release, ‘Save Me San Francisco.’ The general public’s strong response to the song was first predicted by the readers of Alternative Addiction last year when they selected both the album and single as both were voted for in the Top 25 Albums and Songs of 2009. Train was the only Alternative band in the list of top downloaded songs on iTunes which included Katy Perry, Eminem, and Taio Cruz.
