Angels & Airwaves are recording new music. Tom DeLonge, the lead vocalist and guitarist of the rock band, teased a photo of a recording session on Instagram, with the caption, “@angelsandairwaves recording session…” The post from DeLonge comes weeks after the trio released their new single “Rebel Girl.” DeLonge says the band’s first studio album since 2009 will be accompanied by a film he co-wrote. “This album is with a movie, and the movie – which I co-wrote – is going into production in July,” DeLonge recently told Kerrang! . “There will be an album-movie combo, but much more commercial and much bigger in scope,” he added. “It’ll dig into the fact that the universe is a little bit more tricky and unexplainable than we like to admit.” In a separate interview, DeLonge said the band has “a lot of music” in the works. “We started this album nine months ago and I’ve been working on it piece by piece,” he told NME.
