The Strokes’ Albert Hammond Jr. is working on new music with Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia.
“I’d like to thank #rockinghorsestudios for allowing @natimbruglia #gusoberg and I the ability to write some amazing songs! Incredible vibe,” Hammond tweeted along with a photo of the pair in the studio.
Imbruglia also confirmed the collaboration by sharing pictures from Rockinghorse studios in Byron Bay. The pair also thanked producer Gus Oberg, who had produced The Strokes’ album Angles, for working on the songs with them.
Although the pair did not reveal when the songs will be released, the new music can be expected to arrive this year.
Hammond’s fourth solo album Francis Trouble was released in March last year.
Meanwhile, the Strokes have been confirmed as headliners for a string of festivals this summer, including Victoria Park’s All Points East and the Governor’s Ball in New York as well as the Doctor Music Festival and Bilbao BBK in Spain.
