The Lumineers have been sued by former member Jason van Dyke, who says that he’s owed royalties from the band. He claims that Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites promised equal partnership and co-authorship credits when he joined the band, and now he wants them to pay up. Van Dyke says he co-wrote nine songs including “Scotland” and “Gun Song.” He also says that he helped with recordings, live performances and songwriting starting in 2008, quitting when the group moved to Colorado in 2009. “In biographic and publicity materials that routinely accompany the numerous record releases of Schultz and Fraites’s current band, Van Dyke has been ostracized and rendered ‘invisible’ through a false narrative,” says the complaint. Van Dyke is seeking compensation of over $1 million. Copyright(c) 2014 RTTNews.com. All Rights Reserved
