Tegan and Sara have announced that they will be releasing The Con X: Covers, in celebration of the tenth anniversary of their 2007 album The Con, according to SPIN. The upcoming offering will include new renditions of the previous album’s 14 songs covered by 14 different artists. “When I hear another band or artist cover one of our songs it can be indescribable and pleasantly disorienting – creating hope where there was originally hopelessness or joy where there was only ever regret,” Sara Quin writes in a statement. The duo also have announced an acoustic tour to celebrate the tenth anniversary of The Con, which kicks off on October 20. The Con X: Covers album will be released on October 13. Warner Bros., the duo’s label, has also announced they will be donating net album proceeds from the album to the Tegan and Sara Foundation, which supports LGBTQ girls and women.
