In an interview last week with Alternative Addiction, Sleeperstar lead singer Chris Pearson revealed that the band is in serious talks about signing with a major label, although he said it was too soon to reveal which label. “We started negotiating, I can’t tell you who yet, but I know [our fans] are going to be pleased,” Pearson told Alternative Addiction. “It’s going to take some time to negotiate, but needless to say we think we’ve found the right home, and we’re ready to take the plunge.” The as-of-yet unannounced label is said to be interested in re-releasing the band’s debut full length album Just Another Ghost which the band self released last summer. Sleeperstar has been enjoying a lot of attention since their song “I Was Wrong” was featured on the CW show Vampire Diaries last fall. In addition to the new life the label will likely give to their last album, Pearson says the band is already working on a new album to hopefully release at their new label home as well. “We’re in the studio cutting demos for a new album which we’re still figuring out the title for,” explained Pearson. “We’re really excited about the new potential that Just Another Ghost has, but we’re also really excited about the new album too.” Sleeperstar is expected to announce which label they’ve signed with in the coming weeks, likely in a follow up interview on Alternative Addiction.
