Rick Astley shared a video of his own cover of the Foo Fighters’ 1997 hit “Everlong.”
The video shows the English singer-songwriter singing the song while playing acoustic guitar in his home studio in London.
“Sometimes, you just have to find a song that will lift your spirits and put you in another place. I’ve been doing that a lot recently with music,” the “Never Gonna Give You Up” singer says. “One of the bands I always go to, believe it or not, is Foo Fighters.”.
“Everlong” is the second single from the rock band’s second studio album, The Colour and the Shape. The song reached number 3 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart and the Canadian (RPM) Rock/Alternative chart.
Astley and the Foo Fighters have shared stages previously.
At Japan’s Summer Sonic festival in 2017, the ’80s pop star joined the band for a cover of “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl played with Astley at a concert last summer.
