On the anniversary of their latest album “Need Your Light,” Ra Ra Riot pronounced 2017 the #YearOfAbsolutely and released a series of four remixes, which have now been assembled to form the Need Your Light: Remix EP, available digitally everywhere. The EP features remixes by Paris-based producer Androma, and noted Canadian remixer Inukshuk, who separately have released tracks with over 10 million spins on YouTube. Other remixers include Brazilian artist Cesare and American musician Space Fight. In celebration, the band will play their 2007 debut EP Ra Ra Riot from start to finish for the first and only time ever. They celebrated their 10-year anniversary with the February release of Need Your Light (which featured production from long-time collaborator Rostam Batmanglij) and in support of the album they toured the US multiple times where they played to sold-out crowds. The year concluded with a massive tour supporting Young The Giant that included a show at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall and The Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Not only did Ra Ra Riot play to their biggest audiences of their decade long career but Need Your Light was adored by fans and critics alike. Pitchfork noted “they have finally hit the sweet spot” and Entertainment Weekly said “Need Your Light, might be their most artful and catchiest set yet.” Harper’s Bazaar called out the album’s debut single saying “The singles from ‘Light’ don’t stray from the band’s fun indie vibe, especially ‘Absolutely.'”
