Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix shared some of his thoughts on the band’s upcoming album in a recent interview for Zippo Encore Live With Jose Mangin.
Shaddix explained that the band recently held a “second round of songwriting” and have “seven or eight pieces of music for the next record.”
“Some of it’s just heavy and nuts and just aggressive with these massive, big, pummeling riffs,” Shaddix said of the new material. “And then there’s other stuff that’s that kind of experimental all-over-the-place-type stuff.”
He said the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdowns have “definitely stirred up something in the band that’s coming out really cool in the music.”
Shaddix said Papa Roach expect to drop a new track later this year, with the new album likely to follow in early 2021. The new record would be a follow-up to 2019’s Who Do You Trust?
