Aftershock has postponed its 2020 festival to next year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The good news is that My Chemical Romance and Metallica are still confirmed to be next year’s headliners.
“After all the harm caused by COVID-19, there is nothing that we wanted more than to be celebrating Aftershock with you for what was going to be a monumental weekend,” Danny Wimmer Presents said in a statement. “We waited as long as we could but, unfortunately, the recent spike of cases now requires that we reschedule this year’s sold-out Aftershock to 2021.”
Aftershock Festival 2020 was scheduled for October 9 to 11. The 2021 festival will now take place from October 7 to 10, 2021. The organizers have added an additional day to next year’s event.
“We are excited to announce that, thanks to our friends at Jack Daniel’s, we are adding a fourth night to Aftershock 2021, as an epic celebratory evening to kick-off the return of California’s favorite rock festival,” they said.
Several festivals and tours have been canceled or postponed this year due to the pandemic.
