The line up for the 2005 Lollapalooza festival has just been announced. Among the bands scheduled to play at the show on July 23-24 in Chicago are The Pixies, Weezer, Cake, Dashboard Confessional, The Killers, and many others. Lollapalooza organizers have given up on the notion of a traveling festival after last years meltdown, causing the cancellation of the tour. It seems that the cost of the festival in past years had grown so large, that there wasn’t enough money left over after the bills were paid to satisfy Lollapalooza investors. So instead, this year they’ve gone with a two day, one location approach, scheduled in downtown Chicago.
