Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher recently took to social media to post videos of himself singing tweaked lyrics to some of the band’s hits to drive across the importance of handwashing amid the coronavirus pandemic. Gallagher changed the title of the songs as well, renaming “Wonderwall” as “Wonderwash,” “Supersonic” to “Soapersonic” and “Champagne Supernova” to “Champagne Soapernova.” One of the videos show a bearded Gallagher washing his hands in the kitchen sink while singing the starting verse of “Wonderwall.” He later changes the lyrics to “Today’s gonna be the day that they’re gonna throw it back to you/ By now you should have somehow realised what you’ve got to do/ Wash your hands, scrubs your toes/ Scratch your arse and pick your nose/ C’mon, you know.” “Here’s another one you might know. It’s called SOAPERSONIC. If you know the words wash along,” he captioned the second video. “I need to be myself/ I can’t be no one else/ I’m feeling soapersonic/ Give me gin and tonic/ You can have it all but how much do you want it/ Wash your hands you little f**kers,” he sings in the altered lyrics. “Back by popular demand here’s champagne SOAPERNOVA thank you all for washing and I’ll see you down the road LG x,” he wrote for the third video. Gallagher also sang his own solo song “For What It’s Worth,” and dedicated it to co-writer Simon Aldred. He changed the lines “For what it’s worth I’m sorry for the hurt I caused / I’ll be the first to say, ‘I made my own mistakes'” to “For wash it’s worth I’m sorry for the germs… I’ll be the first to say, ‘Wash your f**king hands.'” Gallagher recently urged his brother Noel Gallagher to consider a Oasis reunion for a one-off benefit show once the coronavirus pandemic ends. The brother parted ways in August 2009, with Noel saying he couldn’t work with Liam any longer.
