Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins has been a longtime fan of the progressive rock band Rush. However, the idea of him as a road drummer is not likely to come to fruition. With Rush’s legendary drummer, Neil Peart announcing he is retiring from touring, the road trio has been reduced to a duo. If guitarist Alex Lifeson and frontman bassist Geddy Lee want to perform live, they will need to enlist a replacement for Peart. Hawkins was recently interviewed on Sirius XM show Trunk Nation. When he was asked about the possibility of sitting in with Rush, Hawkins dismissed the idea. The drummer told the host, “You know how many f*****g dorks would wanna kick my a** if I tried to be in Rush? It’d be like a nation of dorks chasing me and trying to kill me. ‘You’re not Neil Peart! Don’t even think about it!'” The group Rush has made no public announcements on the future of their live shows. Copyright(c) 2016 RTTNews.com. All Rights Reserved
