Dashboard Confessional has emerged from the studio with new music, some of which the Chris Carrabba-led band will preview on a fall headlining tour. The alt-rock foursome, which also includes bassist Scott Schoenbeck, guitarist John Lefler and drummer Mike Marsh, will kick off a major concert run Nov. 7 in Louisville, KY. The trek, which includes a three-night (12/7-9) stand in New York City, will conclude Dec. 18 in Atlanta. The band will also tackle a few shows this month and next ahead of the tour proper, including tonight’s (9/11) appearance in Milwaukee. Details are shown below. Joining the tour as opening support will be New Found Glory, Never Shout Never and Meg & Dia. “After the Ending,” the group’s sixth studio album, is due in stores Nov. 10. The set, produced by Butch Walker (Weezer, Fall Out Boy), is the band’s follow-up to 2007’s “The Shade of Poison Trees,” which peaked at No. 18 on The Billboard 200. The new material emerges after Carrabba spent a year on the road touring as a solo act behind “The Shade of Poison Trees” while still using the Dashboard Confessional name. “I took a vacation from my social obligations to write songs and before I knew it, I had a batch that was new and intriguing and, best of all, connected to each other,” he wrote in a blog posting last year on the band’s website.
