A source close to Coldplay claims that they spent £4.22 million on the color changing wristbands that they handed out on their Mylo Xyloto tour. The wristbands changed in time with the music playing and came in several colors, such as green, blue, yellow, red, pink and white. The wristbands also contained light-emitting diodes and operated using software that made them light up. A source quoted by The Mirror states: “With this tour, Coldplay were determined to put their fans first and give something back. That meant no expense spared on set design, pyrotechnics, lighting as well as giving out the high-tech £3 wristbands, which became a massive part of the gigs. If fans are paying £50 for a ticket, they are entitled to a good show and a spectacle.” Coldplay is one of the artists nominated for a 2014 Golden Globe for Best Original Song. They are up against Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, U2 and Idina Menzel. Copyright(c) 2013 RTTNews.com. All Rights Reserved
