We've got a lot of great indie bands that we want to shine a light on. One of them is Burning Alms, a Birmingham trio that's reminiscent of some of the art-alt-rock bands that were popping up in the 2000's.
We’ve got a lot of great indie bands that we want to shine a light on. One of them is Burning Alms, a Birmingham trio that’s reminiscent of some of the art-alt-rock bands that were popping up in the 2000’s.
Burning Alms is John Robert Biggs, Thomas Whitfield, and Sebastian Lenton and their sound is crazy. One minute they’re featuring a lightly overdriven guitar then the next minute, that leads into a wall of sound with some ferocious bass and drums.
The best example of their sound is their single, “Everyone You Know.”
Formed in 2012 around the partnership of John Biggs and Tom Whitfield, the trio was originally a duo when they released their debut album, In Sequence since then they’ve added bassist Sebastian Lenton and they’ve released their second album, Afternoon Sass.
The band recorded Afternoon Sass with Tom Livemore in England, Afternoon Sass showcases this trio’s ability to write and perform songs of a chaotic nature.
