Avenged Sevenfold debuted their new video for their single "So Far Away" earlier this week which was done as a tribute to the band's late drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan who passed away in 2009.
Avenged Sevenfold premiered the music video for its latest single, “So Far Away,” earlier this week. The video, directed by Wayne Isham (Metallica, Shania Twain), is a tribute to former Avenged drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. Sullivan died in 2009 from an overdose of prescription drugs; the band called the video “raw and emotional” and a “very personal goodbye” to him. After Sullivan’s death, Avenged pressed on and recruited touring drummer Arin Ilejay for whom guitarist Synyster Gates had high-praise: “He’s 22 years old, and he’s just a sweet, young, awesome kid. He shreds, he’s amazing, and it’s really made us feel certainly very excited to give him this opportunity,” he said to the Pulse of Radio. “So Far Away” is lifted from Avenged’s current and fifth album, Nightmare, which has been certified gold.
