On the heels of last year’s successful album release, Dark Is The Way, Light Is A Place, Anberlin are hitting the road for a co-headlining fall tour with popular California rockers Switchfoot. “We’ve known this has been coming for years. We had to tour with Switchfoot. They’re all incredible musicians, they put on an incredible live show. It’s one of those things where I can’t believe it’s taken this long. They’re one of those bands where it was inevitable that we would tour with them,” Stephen Christian told Alternative Addiction. “We knew that this was just one of those moments in life where we would absolutely look forward to this upcoming tour.” While the band is currently touring Australia, the fall US tour kicks off September 22 in Wilmington, NC. Christian also discussed what the band has been up to during their downtime on tour. “[Guitarist] Joey Milligan has written about forty songs, and collectively we’ve written about eight for the next record,” Christian says. “If it was up to us, we’d love to record it in February or March of 2012. It’s totally up to the record label, but I think we’ll be ready in February.” The band’s current single “Closer” is at radio now, and Dark Is The Way, Light Is A Place is out now on Universal Republic. The band are touring throughout much of the country with Switchfoot from September 22 through October 20. 09/22/2011 – Wilmington, NC – UNC Wilmington 09/24/2011 – Towson, MD – The Recher 09/25/2011 – New York, NY – Best Buy Theatre 09/26/2011 – Philadelphia, PA – The Trocadero 09/27/2011 – Oneonta, NY – SUNY College of Oneonta 09/29/2011 – Grand Rapids, MI – Calvin College 09/30/2011 – Columbus, OH – Newport Music Hall 10/01/2011 – Burbonnais, IL – Olivet Nazarene University 10/02/2011 – Dekalb, IL – Northern Illinois University 10/04/2011 – Bloomington, IL – The Castle Theatre 10/05/2011 – Toledo, OH – Bowling Green 10/07/2011 – Boulder, CO – Boulder Theatre 10/08/2011 – Salt Lake City, UT – X96 Big Ass Show @ Gallivan Center 10/10/2011 – San Francisco, CA – Warfield 10/11/2011 – Los Angeles, CA – Wiltern 10/13/2011 – Amarillo, TX – Azteca Music Hall ages: all ages10/14/2011 – Siloam, AR – John Brown University10/15/2011 – Longview, TX – LeTourneau University 10/17/2011 – Dallas, TX – House of Blues 10/18/2011 – Austin, TX – Stubbs 10/20/2011 – Albuquerque, NM – Kiva
