The Indie Song of the Day comes from indie solo Danish artist Thomas Charlie Pedersen. He just released a new album called Daylight Saving Hours.
Pedersen is known most as the lead singer and guitarist of Danish alternative rock band Vinyl Floor. Daylight Saving Hours is his second solo record. The album was recorded in Copenhagen by Thomas and his brother Daniel. Daniel, who is the drummer of Vinly floor, mixed the record too.
The record is supposed to key into an acoustic and minimalistic style that Pedersen is going for with his solo work. This record is more arranged than his first solo record, but it maintains that overall simplistic feel.
The new record from Pedersen has Thomas writing about other people and general statements. It’s about getting older and more observant as you age in life.
The new album from Pedersen is raw and unpolished and that’s the way it’s supposed to sound.
“The project started out as demo recordings, but I’ve decided to release them this way because I want to present them as raw as possible. I want to preserve the feel of how they were written.”
