The Indie Song of the Day comes from Denver, CO artist David Alexander. Alexander is just 16 years-old, but his music is picking up some traction around the Denver area. Alexander performs frequently at well-loved Denver venues and he’s done some special shows at some of the city’s hospitals. Alexander is a classically trained pianist and he’s influenced by artists like Ed Sheeran and James Arthur. A couple of years ago, David started writing songs with J Bowman, the guitarist for Michael Franti and Spearhead. The single he’ll release soon, “Falling” – was co-written by Bowman. “Falling” isn’t out quite yet so we’re not posting that one, but we still have two things to post from Alexander today. The first is his single “Typical.” The song was produced by Brian Malouf. You can check that out directly below. David was also kind enough to record a video for Alternative Addiction of him doing a vocal cover of Shawn Mendes’ “In My Blood” Alexander has a fearless and authentic approach to music and at his young age he’s already writing at a high level.
