Weezer has been nominated for this year’s Grammy Awards, in the category of “Best Rock Album,” for their incredible tenth album, Weezer (The White Album), released earlier this year on Crush Music. The nomination is the band’s third of their career; they were previous nominated in 2006 for “Best Rock Song” for “Beverly Hills,” and in 2008, winning “Best Short Form Video” for the song “Pork & Beans.”
Weezer (The White Album) debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Rock/Alternative album chart and Top 5 on the Billboard 200 chart when it was released this past April. The album, which was the band’s biggest chart debut since 1999, spawned two massive Alternative radio singles: “Thank God For Girls” and “King of the World.” Weezer then took the record on the road, co-headlining with Panic! At The Disco across the country and playing to over half a million people in the U.S. alone.
The band will headline KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas this weekend on Sunday, December 11th, and are confirmed to play next year’s Hangout Festival in mid-May 2017.
