The Indie Song of the Day comes from Cory Quintard aka Volunteer. This Nashville-based, but Jacksonville-raised act releases music with pop sensibilities. The music is melodic, honest, and anthematic. Cory has toured with Matt Hires and he’s steadily built up a solid fanbase since releasing his first EP, The World Will Begin Again in 2015. A good mission statement is in the Volunteer Facebook bio, “When I look at the things I wrestle with on a daily basis, specifically loss, darkness, worry, and failure, I know I have the choice to let it be my default or to fight against it. I can’t think of a better medium that is prepped for battle than music”, says Quintard. “And I can’t think of a more meaningful thing to share with others.” As he readies himself for a big year in 2019, Volunteer just released a new single this month called “Forever I Am Yours” and that’s the Indie Song of the Day.
