The Goo Goo Dolls are “almost finished” with their eighth studio album, according to the band’s official Web site. The set, which was produced by Glen Ballard, is expected early next year via Warner Bros. First single “Better Days” is available from digital download retailers.”I’d like to thank everybody for the great response to better days,” frontman John Rzeznik writes on the Goo Goo Dolls’ site. “The song is doing great. It really felt like an ‘Iris’ moment when it sort of fell out of the sky and into my lap,” he says, referring to the band’s 1998 No. 1 Billboard hit. A video for the track was recently shot with director Noble Jones. “The concept is pretty interesting — we are lighting up a forest at night like a rock concert,” Rzeznik says. “It seems like it will be pretty amazing looking but you never know until you see the finished product.”The band will took a break from the studio for a charity show on October 15th at Los Angeles’ House of Blues, with proceeds benefiting breast cancer research. A New Year’s Eve show at Las Vegas’ House of Blues is also scheduled.
