The children of late Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland shared a playlist of music earlier this week, on what would have been the star’s 50th birthday. The list is titled “Songs That Remind Me Of My Dad,” and his kids Noah and Lucy wrote: “Happy Birthday Daddy. Here are a few songs that remind us of you on this special day and every day. XOXO-Noah & Lucy.”
His former bandmate, bassist Robert DeLeo, adds:
“A very gifted young man with such a beautiful voice would have turned fifty today. Happy birthday and much love, Scott.” The band’s official Twitter also wrote: “Happy birthday, Scott. Fifty years ago today the world was given a gift. Thank you for all you gave us. Happy birthday.”
DeLeo also recently remembered Weiland noting:
“He was a lion, you know, he really was,” he said. “In every way in life, he was almost to the point of being hyper about creating and getting things done. We knew that he had that energy. Not only in the voice – I knew he could sing and he was a real singer – but the energy he brought along with that, it was something that he always had from when I met him.”
