The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach Festival have been canceled due to coronavirus concerns.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach Festival have been canceled due to coronavirus concerns. Riverside County Public Health Officer Cameron Kaiser signed an order canceling the popular music festivals, citing concerns over a possible surge of coronavirus cases in the fall. “I am concerned as indications grow that COVID-19 could worsen in the fall,” Kaiser said in a statement. “In addition, events like Coachella and Stagecoach would fall under Governor (Gavin) Newsom’s Stage 4, which he has previously stated would require treatments or a vaccine to enter. Given the projected circumstances and potential, I would not be comfortable moving forward.” The festivals were set to take place earlier in the year, but in March they were both postponed until October. Coachella was set to be headlined by Rage Against the Machine, Travis Scott and Frank Ocean, while Stagecoach was to be headlined by Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood and Eric Church. Meanwhile, Goldenvoice, the Los Angeles-based company that produces both music festivals, has offered ticketholders the opportunity to obtain refunds. Copyright(c) 2020 RTTNews.com.
