Kings of Leon has claimed the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 with the release of their seventh studio album WALLS. This marks the band’s first number one album in the U.S. The album also enters at #1 on the Alternative Albums, Rock Albums,Top Albums Sales, and Top Digital Albums Charts. WALLS is also #1 in 5 additional countries including the U.K., Canada, New Zealand, Ireland and Austria, and earns top three entries in more than 10 territories including Germany and Australia.
The album has received amazing critical acclaim with The New York Times calling it “timeless,” Rolling Stone saying it’s “Kings of Leon at their best” and Consequence of Sound calling the album “their best album in years.” The album includes released tracks “Reverend,” “Around The World” and “WALLS” and their hit single “Waste A Moment,” which Stereogum said sounds like “the Kings Of Leon you remember.” According to Mediabase, the song is currently #1 at AAA radio for the 2nd consecutive week and is continuing to climb the Alternative radio chart, sitting at #5 this week.
The Grammy Award winning group will begin their U.S. tour begin January 12th in National Harbor, MD and route through major U.S. cities including New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Detroit, and San Francisco, which are already sold out.
