Maynard James Keenan has suggested a report in The New York Times suggesting the Tool frontman has left the band is wrong.
When a fan brought the article to Keenan’s attention on Twitter, he replied, “Not much fact-checking these days.”
In an article titled “In the Arizona High Desert, Taking the Temperature of a Wine Boom,” Keenan was described as “a wine entrepreneur and former lead singer of the alt-metal band, Tool.”
“@mjkeenan Stoked that @nytimes gave @merkinvineyards a shout-out in this nicely written article about wine and Arizona, but hope @mjkeenan is not leaving @Tool”, a fan named Godhenry tweeted, attaching the Times article.
After a gap of 13 years, Tool is set to release a new album on August 30.
Tool is currently in the middle of a North American tour, which will be followed by a summer European tour.
