The Gin Blossoms are set to release their first new album in nearly eight years later this month. Mixed Reality, the band’s sixth studio effort, is set for release on June 15. Produced by Don Dixon and engineered by Mitch Easter, Mixed Reality will feature fifteen tracks. It will be the first new music from the band since the release of No Chocolate Cake back in September of 2010. “I knew we were recording with Don and Mitch, and I managed to hack into a young version of myself to craft songs. All of us turned in our best work in 25 years. Regardless of commercial outcome, I know ‘Mixed Reality’ is special, and that we’ve lived up to our legacy,” said frontman Robin Wilson.
