Dan Reynolds, the frontman of pop pock band Imagine Dragons, had a humorous take on the controversial Rock Songs of The Decade list that was published by Billboard last week.
The list, which prominently features artists of the likes of Imagine Dragons, Walk The Moon and Twenty One Pilots, received a wave of backlash by self-proclaimed “real” rock fans, one of whom pointed out that “just because a song has percussion doesn’t mean it’s rock.”
The top 3 spots on the list are claimed by three of Imagine Dragon’s most popular hits – “Believer,” “Thunder” and “Radioactive” – which drew considerable criticism but also some praise.
After the response came to the notice of Reynolds, he took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the subject, tweeting, “Got on twitter to find all the slander and all the love. thank you for the love and yea I’d probably be mad if it wasn’t my band but it is my band hahahahahahbaba.”
