Jack White performed for Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders during a campaign rally at Cass Technical High School in Detroit, White’s home town, on Sunday.
During his 25-minute-long, six-song performance at his alma mater, White played songs such as Bob Dylan’s “License to Kill,” the White Stripes’ “Icky Thump,” “Corporation” and “Connected by Love”.
Covering “License To Kill,” the singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer said the song reminded him of President Donald Trump.
White said that he is singing in a political rally for the first time because “Bernie Sanders is telling the truth, and I really do trust him.”
“God bless you, peace be with you all and good luck Bernie,” White told the crowd after concluding the set with a thrilling performance of “Seven Nation Army.”
